Can you rediscover a college passion at 42 and make it a new career? Marjorie Gubelmann is proof you can. In college, Marjorie was known as her DJ alter ego, "Mad Marj." Playing her mixtapes at a local radio station, she was in all her glory, but becoming a DJ was not a respectable career choice for the time and the world that Marjorie grew up in.
Until one day, at age 42, her friend dared her to DJ his birthday party. She said yes, and as Gubelmann reconnected to her passion, she courageously blended all the lessons from motherhood, divorce, and corporate leadership into a new chapter, secretly going back to DJ school, and ultimately reintroducing herself to the world as DJ Mad Marj.
Now internationally known, she has opened for Cardi B, Liam Payne, Skrillex, New Order, and Rita Ora, among others. The DJ Mad Marj promise? She can make anybody dance, and Marjorie is having the time of her life doing it.
